Calling all referring and primary vets in Southwest Florida! We’ll be hanging out at Millennial Brewing in Fort Myers this Saturday, November 1st, from 3-6 pm.
If you are a vet in any of these areas, I invite you to learn more about my practice:
Light bites and the first round of drinks are on me. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
A small amount of clear or reddish-brown crust in the corner of a cat’s eye, especially in the morning, is usually normal. Discharge is not
Cherry eye is a prolapse of the tear gland in a pet’s third eyelid. It looks like a smooth, red, swollen mass in the inner
A little redness in one eye that clears within a day, with no other symptoms, is usually minor. Treat eye redness as urgent if it
If you have a pug, you may notice a dark film slowly spreading across their eye. It can look subtle at first. But over time, it can affect your dog’s vision. This condition is called pigmentary keratitis, and in sunny places like Florida, it’s especially common.
If your furry friend suddenly starts squinting, it’s usually a sign their eye is irritated or painful. Even if they seem otherwise fine, eye issues can escalate quickly. So it’s something you don’t want to ignore.
If you’ve noticed a cloudy film or dark pigment creeping across your dog’s eye, you’re right to pay attention. One possible cause is pannus—also known as chronic superficial keratitis (CSK)—a condition that can affect your dog’s vision over time if it’s not treated.
Florida pets love the beach—but salt spray, wind-blown sand, strong sun, and seasonal allergens can irritate or injure their eyes. What you need is a quick, practical guide to keeping your dog’s eyes safe so you can enjoy the sun without worry.
If you are lucky enough to own a rabbit, you already know this: they’re incredibly good at acting like everything is fine—even when it’s not, and that’s especially true when it comes to their eyes.
If you have a Boston Terrier, you already know they’re basically professional charmers. Those wide eyes, expressive faces, and their endless personality? It’s my favorite thing as a veterinary ophthalmologist to see when you walk through my front doors.
But here’s something many pet parents don’t realize: Boston Terriers are more likely to develop hereditary cataracts than many other dog breeds, and knowing this early on can make a huge difference.
At Visionary Vet Services, we are incredibly proud of the dedicated veterinary ophthalmology team that provides compassionate, high-quality eye care for pets every single day.
Veterinary ophthalmology requires precision, patience, and trust. Our clients place their pets’ vision in our hands, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. It’s our team’s experience, collaboration, and genuine care that allow us to deliver the level of service pet families deserve.
